From 2002 to 2005 a small UK charity, 'STEPS Romania' refurbished the four children's floors of the Fair Play hostel.  Each year several teams of volunteers went, at their own expense, to work in the hostel.

STEPS tiled and fitted out the toilet, shower and wash rooms on each floor.

STEPS fitted doors and decorated all of the bedrooms and halls.

STEPS created a dining room, activity room, workshop, sewing room, medical room and a computer room.

STEPS paid for the roof to be re-covered, the outside walls to be sealed insulated and painted and all of the windows double glazed.

But most important of all STEPS spent time with the children, giving them love and attention and many varied creative activities.

We have many friends at the Fair Play hostel.
